A 1024 × 600 touchscreen, local Wi-Fi access and a status API provide the software foundation for solar measurements.

Decisions and development
The solar-monitor repository adds its first version on 20 October and refactors the display on 22 October. Firmware targets the Waveshare ESP32-S3 Touch LCD 7B using its display, GT911 touch and expander drivers.
The code includes a Wi-Fi access point, a local web interface and /api/status. The screen switches between network information and I²C diagnostics. Measurements remain unavailable: -- on the web and null in the API. INA226/INA228 identification and calibration are pending.
